Takeaways - Our Prefabricated Homes
The ‘Takeaway’ series of factory built housing has been in development for over 30 years by world renowned architect Gabriel Poole.
Each home is prefabricated in the Gateway Manufacture factory, including all fittings, electricity and plumbing, ready to be pieced together and connected to facilities on site. This allows each component to be tuned towards cost efficiency.
Takeaways are truly modular, allowing custom designs for your requirements. Modules can even be added on at a later date, should you or your family wish to expand. You may, for example, wish to add another bedroom module if you happen to acquire a new permanent visitor.
The system allows homes to be flat-packed, containerised, and delivered to almost anywhere. They can be constructed on site entirely by semi-skilled labour and one supervisor. A one bedroom design, for example, can be completed in approximately 3-5 days with a working bathroom and bedroom module on site within hours of it being delivered if appropriate facilities are available. After completion it is ready to be connected to power and water by an electrician and plumber. This system eliminates much of the time spent on site by regular building methods and allows for production in a more controlled environment to ensure a high standard of quality.
You’ll be amazed at how simply your home will come together!
Built to Last
Takeaway homes will come with a standard Australian wind speed rating of C2 - (W50C), and an option to upgrade to C3 - (W60C). These designs ratings should render them safe in most conditions to be encountered in this country, including cyclonic conditions.
Significant effort has been put into termite protection. The floor system and foundations have termite protection built in, and timber is treated according to Australian Standards.
